The 15th ISPO World Congress, held in Lyon June 22 - 25, 2015, is now behind us. The participation was greater than expected : over 3000 participants came from 110 countries. Alongside the scientific congress, 138 exhibiting companies from 23 countries presented their innovations in the field of orthopedics. Among them, PROTEOR held its rank of leading company in France.
A stand bigger than ever
In order to welcome visitors from all around the world, PROTEOR had built a 200 m² stand, the biggest in the company's history. This colorful and uncluttered space has been set up to offer different atmospheres in a single place: spaces dedicated to products and custom-made orthopedic devices, interactive activities with disabled athletes, lounge and bar area.

This original design actually summarizes the idea which is behind the 4 quarters of Proteor's logo : the strength of the group is an addition of skills.
This concept intended as a balance between expertise and togetherness is a clear victory, since PROTEOR's stand was never empty during the four days of the congress.
Prosthetics, orthotics, or seat braces : most of the PROTEOR products have been enhanced through a chrome plating process that astonished. Several new innovative products were also presented for the first time such as the Allux knee, the first polycentric knee with microprocessor controlled stance and swing phase. It is engineered by Nabtesco, the Japanese partner on the segment of high-end prosthetic knees.

The Revofit kit for BOA closure system is another innovation unveiled by PROTEOR. The tensioning system allows the patient to adjust precisely the socket's tightening, by rotating a simple dial.
Sport activities were also honored in this large space, by the presence of a dozen of amputee athletes. Visitors had the opportunity to meet Eric Dargent, a surfer fitted with the BtK Sport knee, and even challenge him on a surfboard in videogame tournaments. The German mountain biker Stephan Büchler was also there to present his new Hydeal II knee prosthesis.
In terms of custom-made fittings, the expertise of PROTEOR clinics was demonstrated by patients fitted with specific devices suitable for sports : the motorbike rider Arnaud Guignebert and his Intelligent knee prosthesis, the karateka Régis Senand and his Dyna J foot, the cyclist Jean-Pierre Souffache and his prosthesis adapted to the bicycle drive, fencer Serge Provost's shoulder protection or even the hand orthosis made for Stéphane Molliens, a quadriplegic table tennis player.

An important contribution to the scientific programme
PROTEOR also got highly involved in the scientific part of the congress by participating in several symposia, free papers and posters. These contributions focused on various themes : prosthesis, orthosis or back braces.
As a major manufacturer of orthopedic components and products, PROTEOR has also performed several technical workshops to present some of its flagship products: Basko and Odra orthoses, Hydeal II and BtK Sport knees.
Promising perspectives for the future
PROTEOR has played its cards well, both to increase its visibility in the world of orthopedics and to establish fruitful contacts. For the French company, the results of this congress are already very positive in its continuing international expansion.
