It will be held at Pleasant Ridge Camp/Camp Spearhead, a Greenville County Parks, Recreation and Tourism facility. First Cycle will offer adaptive riding experiences with handcycles, tandems and trikes, as well specialty bikes and offer top notch hands on instruction from the staff of Roger C. Peace Rehab and our many volunteers. The event will be held Saturday morning, from 10 am to 12 noon on camp grounds located at 4232 Highway 11 in Marietta.
Nabtesco-Proteor will sponsor the event, along with Advanced Prosthetics and Friddle’s Orthopedic Appliances with event partners Roger C. Peace Rehab, Greenville County Parks and Rec and Heather’s Ride. Proteor will introduce patients to the EASY RIDE knee prosthesis and will allow them to test it all along the event.
The goal of First Cycle is to introduce both children and adults to cycling as part of their ongoing recreation, wellness and rehabilitation. There are many local cyclists in the Greenville area and more participants are desired ! Families are welcome to participate and bring their bikes with them.
There is NO CHARGE for the event, but pre-registration is requested so that the staff are prepared. Online registration is available at www.opafonline.org.
